Chapel Bridge
When you hear Lucerne, you instinctively think of the Chapel Bridge in the middle of the city. Together with the octagonal, 34-metre-high water tower, it is the pride of Central Switzerland - and rightly so: it was built in the 14th century as part of the city's fortifications and is now the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe. The pictures inside tell the story of Swiss and Lucerne history. The bridge is just a 5-minute walk from the Hotel Alpina.
